| if you're as tired of the Morton Arboretum as i am, then you'd be happy to know that this is the final post
what follows is some miscellany found on arboretum grounds
Kettle Korn Cabin. maybe they should've also used a K to spell Cabin so then their initials can be... their popcorn is supposedly both sweet and salty i wouldn't know. i'll have to buy some and try it next time
i snuck around back to get a shot of the guy stirring the pot
some plant life themed artwork. i am looking directly up at it

| today's series of images just feature various areas of the Morton Arboretum that have a water element
i wish i had done more in this area with the reflections | | |
| we wandered over to the Japanese area of the Morton Arboretum where we discovered a big banzai tree
the monkeys attacked
he looks like he's either fishing or practicing drumming
monkey yelling
 peek-a-boo
i had a new macro lens with me. it's a 100mm f/2.8 it's really meant for tripod use so my images aren't as sharp as they can be the tree's movement from the wind wasn't helping either but i really just wanted to get a feel for the lens' closeness and depth of field
some tiny Japanese pears
and then they left

| there's a children's garden at the Morton Arboretum. and there's various activities for the kids to do to learn stuff about stuff. one of those activities is to find the gnomes. they're hidden throughout the garden, and the kids have to figure out where by looking at a sheet of clues and figuring out where each gnome is by whatever plant they have to learn about. i dunno how many gnomes there were, as i was not playing the game, but i happened to see four of them.
this one was takin' a break

| altho there were already a bunch of leafless trees, there was still quite a bit of Fall colour
seeing above and below the water's surface
it was actually quite crowded at the garden, as it was a weekend the people in red and blue are ruining the shot but i could wait no longer for people to get out of the way
never seen these kindsa leaves before. they have spikes on em
leafless skeleton
fairy tale settings
